"Over the years we have celebrated most of our major events at the Dolce Vita and not once have we been disappointed. We live in the South East and it wouldn't be the first time that we've planned a trip to Shrewsbury around an evening with friends at the Dolce. The food is always superb, the ingredients fresh, the presentation beautiful and service is second to none - the wines aren't half bad either!! La Dolce Vita is a charming, freindly, intimate venue where nothing ever seems to be too much trouble, it would stand its ground against even its more famous (and expensive) rivals here in London. La Dolce Vita is a real find and we would recommend it to anyone who enjoys good food and good hospitality. " Julia & Eoin Lewis 15/05/2010
"Love the food there. Came last night with my boyfriend and we had a lovely meal! We usually come on the bike...! See you in the summer!!!!!" Libby Gliksman 16/04/2010
"This is NOT your regular Italian restaurant or pizzeria. La Dolce Vita is a cosy, welcoming, friendly yet very professional, family run business. All the food is excellent, freshly prepared and beautifully presented. Every few months there is a very special "Gourmet Evening". The whole family rallies round to make it a really enjoyable event. You are welcomed by the owner, served with wonderful food prepared by the lady of the house and one of their sons, a highly trained, award-winning Chef. We feel very fortunate to have such a restaurant in Shrewsbury. We have been coming to this restaurant for the past 3 years and are never disappointed. On the contrary, it gets better every time!" "We just wanted to send you our warm thanks for a delightful evening in really comfortable surroundings with outstanding food. We both enjoyed every mouthful of our three course meals and enthused about the wonderful time we had, all the way home. We will be visiting you again very soon! Thank you." Yvonne Siveter 3/02/2010
"Amazing. That is how we describe the talent of the chef; we have never tasted such exquisite food locally. Each time we have visited this restaurant we are treated to some of the most exciting meals we have ever tasted. If you get chance try and visit one of the Gourmet Evenings; they get booked up very quickly; I can promise you will never want to miss another one!! We believe you get what you pay for; if you like the taste of microwave meals then you will not like La Dolce Vita; as everything is prepared and cooked fresh. Treat yourselves ……. It’s worth it." "I went again as one of a party of fourteen last night and we had a really good evening. There was a limited menu because of the size of our group but all pronounced the food delicious and the service was good." David Turner. 21/11/2009
"What a jewel, we were in Shrewsbury last weekend, and found your restaurant thanks to your web site, We had a fantastic evening, the food was fantastic, starters and main course were amazing but the desserts exceptional. I am only sorry that living in Oxford we cannot be regular visitors, but we shall definetly be back, what is a 2 hour drive for food this good!" Steven Softley. 25/01/2010
"Great service and amazing food! I try and make time for a visit to La Dolce Vita whenever I am in Shrewsbury. I would definitely recommend dining here, especially on the "Gourmet nights" where the Head chef's flair really outshines any other Italian restaurant I've ever been to." Adam Degg. 18/11/2009
"Congratulations, Luigi and Patricia on last night's splendid event. We thoroughly enjoyed every course. Please give our thanks to Gennaro and Gemma for making it so memorable." Basil and Patricia. 14/10/2009
"I found this place by chance last week when I dived into the doorway to escape the torrential August rain (?!). Six of us were slightly surprised and disappointed to find that a restaurant that describes itself as "…real taste of Italy in a friendly and relaxed environment…." had no other customers when we arrived. I can’t help but feel that, if we’d gone as a couple, we’d have found the atmosphere fairly flat. As it was, the six of us probably helped improve the ambience although you’d have to ask the couple and the single chap who came in later whether they agreed. The service was good and attentive without being in any way intrusive. Peroni and Pinot Grigio got us in the mood to order. Many of us ordered the pigeon breast on bruschetta and pronounced it as being excellent. There was universal acclaim for all the food but the squid on skewers for mains is picked out for special mention; on a bed of vegetables and a large dollop of aioli it was succulent and tasty. Puddings included ice cream, crema brulee and a delicious cheeseboard finished off a very pleasant evening. The bill for six for three courses, including five Peronis, two bottles each of Pinot Grigio and Corvo Rosso was £270. Expensive, but we’ll be back." David Turner. 30/08/2009
"I had a wonderful meal and evening here, the food and service are both excellent, well worth every penny I spent, I am fed up with going out to eat and paying for average food, La Dolce Vita is in a class of its own." Linda Dobson 26/07/2009
"I had a meal at La Dolce Vita on Saturday night and I was very impressed. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. The presentation of the food was superb and the taste was even better! My husband and I had a lovely evening. We will definitely be returning." S.J. 26/07/2009
"What an amazing restaurant. I have never eaten such good Italian food in England! As a regular visitor to Italy, I know what to expect when entering a restuarant over there. La Dolce Vita is a restaurant where the chefs cook authentic Italian food as though they were cooking for Italians which is not the same as cooking Italian food for the English. An education in real Italian cuisine!" A.G. 15/07/2009
"This restaurant is fantastic. The food was beautiful. It is definitely the best restaurant in Shrewsbury for authentic Italian food. Not the cheapest but service and food exceed expectations." S.L.B. 12/07/2009
"La Dolce Vita is a small, family-run Italian restaurant. What makes it stand out from other restaurants is the quality of the food and the friendly service. The food is simply amazing and worth any wait while it is prepared freshly. Definitely worth a (re)visit!" B.M. 10/07/2009
"6 course Gourmet Evening sounded interesting and was that an understatement!? Apparently, the young chef Gennaro is a member of the Welsh Culinary Team and has won awards in the UK and Europe. We know because after the meal he entered the restaurant to a round of applause from the guests and chatted to everyone individually. The combinations of ingredients which you would not think go together worked perfectly. It may not be a place you stumble across but it is definitely worth making a special effort to try some marvellous and unique dishes in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere." J.G. 08/07/2009
